What is Commercial Kitchen Flooring?
Are you running a coffee shop or restaurant in Brisbane? Do you own a large catering company or food processing plant?
One thing these places have in common is that they all need to follow the Queensland Food and Safety regulations.
The minimum flooring regulations require the floors to be free of cracks and crevices and have a smooth surface. They should not absorb grease, food particles or water and are unable to harbor pests and ponding water.
Commercial kitchens constantly experience wet conditions from frequent high pressure hosing, temperature extremes, hot oil spills, exposure to animal fats, alkali and harsh cleaning chemicals. If your floor cannot handle these then it might be the difference between your business staying open or not.
There are only a few types of flooring that match the regulations and can handle the challenges. Epoxy flooring is one of them and it's quickly becoming the preferred choice thanks to its seamless surface and chemical resistance.
